Sincerely Yours

Wow! What a past couple of weeks it has been. I seriously can't tell you how Jesus has rocked my world and shown me how blessed I am in relationships and so on. Just a little tid bit of advice..When you start looking for things to be thankful for you really do start to realize just how truly thankful you are. Seriously. I had people tell me that forever, but never put it into practice until recently. Shortly after my last post on here (June 24th) I left for a couple of weeks to the beautiful and wonderful island of Jamaica for a mission trip. I was chosen to go on this trip by the wonderful organization called Send Me Now. It's a great opportunity and seriously a life changing event. We were on the Jamaica Marathon Mission Trip so we ran while we were down there...To be quite honest homegirl don't run..and I'm not a good runner. The Lord taught me truly relying on Him for His Strength and also just giving Him my struggles..like running. The whole first week we were there, we did a VBS with the children of Little London. (There are pictures below! Sorry for the quality..I couldn't take my nice camera.) These children just get so excited about a bracelet or a simple name tag. I wish more children here in America got excited about those types of things. We did the song Marvelous Light and they LOVE LOVE the hand motions. It was so sweet to see them getting so excited about things of the Lord. As I looked around at these children to Americans they have no hope. Most of them don't go to college, finish high-school, or have the hope of getting their dreams come true like most Americans do..yet they do have hope. They have the hope of Jesus and truly depending on Him. There's times when I wish that we in America could be more like that. We just get so confused on what the church does for us or how it makes us feel that we really fall short of truly experiencing and knowing Jesus for who He is to us. Anyways, the next week was the running. When I say Jamaica is HOT..I mean it's a hot that I've never experienced even here in America. Seriously. I wanted to die. It was so hot. The first day we ran from Little London to Fullersfeld. That run was 3 miles...and boy was it hard. Some things happened to me physically, so I was able to finish 2 miles then I had to stop, but Jesus got me through those two!! That's for sure! We then stopped at the church in Fullerfeld and made t-shirts and had a festival. One girl wrote "Sexylicious" on her shirt. Haha! I know I shouldn't laugh cause it was after a Gospel presentation, but it was funny regardless. The next run we did was another 3 miler and it was from Fullersfeld to Grangehill. I was able to do the whole thing because I was over my sickness and it was so encouraging. It was so cool to see the kids running with us. Each day we had like 20+ kids running with us. The encouragement they gave us and we were able to give them was SUCH a blessing. We did another festival and even ran out of the pre-made tshirts!!! The next and last run was from Grangehill to Townhead and it was the longest run. Of course it was the hottest that day. My pal A.J. stuck around with me and we ran slow and in the back so I was able to complete it. Cool how God provides right?! It was truly an awesome experience. Before I left I read the book by David Platt called "Follow Me." In this book he has a part about Jamaica where he says that they have found Jamaica to be evangelized, but it is so not. Church is just a thing that they mark off their list because everyone on the island thinks they are a Christian. How similar is this to America? We go around and say we are Christians and mark it off our list but so many so called Christians I know still go out, sleep with their partners, get drunk, do drugs, and so much more. I went to Jamaica and realized that we struggle with the same things here in America. God provided and I was able to get a new camera!! Woohoo! So below are a few pictures of my mission trip from Jamaica (All from IPhone camera) and the others are a few photos from photoshoots I have done recently! I hope you enjoy! Continue to grow closer to Jesus each and every day!!!!
